comfort zone (the untouchable) II, 2019.
Plaster, glue and pigment, 34 x 21 cm.
This piece was produced for an exhibition project titled Estoutro, which marked the World Refugee Day 2019.
It is a hot-water bottle that, due to its surface and its installation, intends to reflect on the differents opportunities of the human being when it comes to such a primary and mandatory theme as that of habitation. To transform a daily, basic and easily attainable and secondary object for some people into a work of art - untouchable and unreachable (only salable) - is, in another line of thought, to speak and reinforce the sense of inequalities in regard to the right to life.
Unlike comfort zone (the untouchable) I, which is installed on the wall, this second piece is presented on the floor and turned upside down, suggesting the shape of a mirror.
